Scope and Content Note:

This collection of halftone color lithographic views of popular landmarks and tourist attractions in New York City was probably part of a set that originally consisted of 20 views. The publisher of these views is not identified, but the images are identical to those which appear on picture postcards issued by Alfred Mainzer during the late 1940s and early 1950s. The original wrapper for the set no longer exists.

This collection consists chiefly of iconic views of the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and Rockefeller Center. Also included are views of structures that have been demolished or replaced by new construction, such as Pennsylvania Station, Madison Square Garden, the Polo Grounds, and Yankee Stadium.
