Getting Here
You can access the NYS Library via driving or public transit. The Library, along with the Archives and Museum, is housed in the Cultural Education Center (CEC) in Albany, New York. The CEC is located at the south end of the Empire State Plaza on Madison Avenue (Route 20). If using GPS, the street address is: 222 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY 12230.
Parking
Positioned at the south end of the Empire State Plaza, the Library is centered among government activities, Albany events, and celebrations. With so many attractions, parking can be limited at times. We encourage visitors to plan ahead.

Public Transportation
Public transit is available through CDTA with Park and Rides available along major routes including Route 114 that stops at the NYS Museum and Route 22 that provides service to Madison Ave & Empire State Plaza.
