Summer Reading Program
Every year, New York libraries sponsor a summer reading program for children and teens.
The theme of the 2015 Summer Reading at New York Libraries program, launched on June 8, is "Every Hero Has a Story." See these TBBL Facebook posts for some suggested titles in that theme:
- Summer Reading Guide, Part 1 - digital talking books
- Summer Reading Guide, Part 2 - print/braille books (pre-K through grade 4). Print/braille books feature the text and illustrations of traditional children's books, with an overlay of the text in braille on each page.
The "Explore New York" reading lists suggests books for different age groups/reading levels that explore New York's history, diversity and culture. These lists are annotated to indicate whether titles are available from TBBL in braille or audio format.
