This photo, showing the monument to the 40th New York Infantry in Plum Run Valley, is from Final Report on the Battlefield of Gettysburg, a report presented to the governor of New York by the New York Monuments Commission in 1900. The report describes the both the participation of New York troops in the battle, and the monuments later erected at Gettysburg to various NY regiments.
