National Park Service Cartographic Resources
Visitor use maps include maps of National Parks, National Park System and the American Revolution.  Site also contains 3-D maps of selected National Parks.  Maps are available in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Illustrator and sometimes jpeg format.

Federal Geographic Data Committee

David Rumsey Historical Map Collection
Contains over 8,000 18th and 19th century maps of North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.  Maps are easily accessible through the Insight Browser.  Search by country, state/province, publication author, keywords or data field.  More advanced users can use the Insight Java Client or GIS Browser.

Building the Digital Earth
The Digital Earth Project, part of the Geoscience Information System (GIS), is a global database created by the Institute for the Study of the Continents (INSTOC) at Cornell. It includes over 100 different data sets on the structure of the Earth's crust, location of earthquake faults, a record of earthquake and volcanic events, magnetic and gravity measurements and descriptions of aquifers, along with details of surface topography. Interactive tools allow users -- from advanced researchers to elementary schoolchildren -- to create maps with almost any selection and combination of the data.

Bibliography of 19th Century New York State Maps
