New York State Census
Contains links to 1720 Albany County census, 1714 Dutchess County census, 1702 Orange County census and 1689 Ulster County census. Brevet Union Generals of the Civil War
Contains alphabetical list of Union officers who were given honorary promotions to General for their service. Brevet promotions were not awarded in the Confederate Army.

NARA Access to Archival Databases(AAD)
The National Archives and Records Administration AAD system provides access to over 350 databases created by federal agencies. National Register of Historic Places
Site contains a link to the National Register Information System (NRIS), searchable by name, location, agency or theme. Castle Garden Immigration Records
Search 10 million immigrants who arrived in NYC 1820-1913. Quick search is free. Records include occupation, age, sex, literacy, date of arrival, origin, port, last residence, destination, plan, ship and passage.
Cimorelli Immigration Manifests Online
Contains ship information, 1890-1930, listed by ship or by port of departure or arrival. Also contains early records prior to 1890. Lists of all ships in database by date. Other features include shipwrecks, Irish immigrants, German immigrants from Russia, emigrants from Waasland.
Site contains a search engine for searching the Ellis Island database of passengers arriving in New York 1892-1924. Initial information includes name, residence, arrival date and age at arrival. Free registration allows access to the full record for passengers (name, ethnicity, place of residence, date of arrival, age on arrival, gender, marital status, ship of travel and port of departure). Site also includes information on the immigrant experience.
