CD-ROM Databases Available Onsite at the New York State Library
The New York State Library provides access to databases in a variety of formats, including CD-ROM and online. To see the list of online databases go to http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/gate/remotedb.htm. In the list below, LH/G indicates the CD is located in the Local History/Genealogy area. ERS indicates that the CD is located at the Electronic Reference Station. If a CD-ROM is brought up from the Library's stacks, be aware that it may not be able to be loaded upon demand, depending upon staff availability. Databases may be added or deleted without notice. If you do not find a specific database you need, please contact reference staff at (518) 474-5355.

1854 Map of Albany County and 1855 New York State Albany County Census Albany County names from the 1855 state census transcribed and indexed by the Capital District Genealogical Society. Agricultural Statistics (current) U.S. Department of Agriculture publication includes statistical information on crops, livestock, farm resources, agricultural conservation, fertilizers, pesticides, taxes, price-support programs and more.

Federal Census Indexes-New York State Indexes for 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1910 Federal Censuses. The 1870 and 1910 indices cover the heads of households and those who have a different surname than the head of household. The 1880 also includes an index to the entire country. CD-ROM. LH/G
Federal Tax Products (1997-Present) Full text tax forms, tax instructions, and taxpayer information publications. CD-ROM. ERS
