Unrestricted donations of master microfilms (original, archival, or duplicate negatives) of New York State newspapers deeded to the New York State Library will be stored in perpetuity in climate controlled vaults under strict archival conditions.
Service copies will be produced from all deeded microfilms for the collection of the New York State Library and made available to the general public for on-site use and through interlibrary loan. Copies will also be made available for sale to institutions and researchers on a cost recovery basis.
The State Library also welcomes selected donations of service copy microfilms and original paper copies of New York State newspapers.
