The New York State Library is pleased to provide this e-newsletter to state agencies. In each issue we will provide you with a couple of brief articles highlighting services and resources that can assist you in your job and life. The State Library has numerous resources available to state employees including:

- Access to subscription databases
- Ability to request articles and database searches
- Special events & training classes
- Specialized resources for those with visual and reading impairments

NYS Document Depository Program
The goal of the depository program is to make NYS documents easily accessible to the citizens of the state. In June 1993 the program was recognized in law. The law stipulates that every State officer, department, commission,institution, authority, legislative committee, and board is to send 30 copies of any report which it has printed to the State Library. The Internet and widespread use of websites to deliver information has greatly increased the amount of electronic documents produced by the agencies. These documents are of equal importance to the State Library and special consideration needs to be given to ensuring their future accessibility and preservation.
