"In 1984, then-Chief Judge Lawrence H. Cooke appointed the New York State Task Force on Women in the Courts and asked it to assume responsibility for an investigation into whether women’s role in "the jurisprudential scheme in the Empire State is fair under all circumstances." In response, the Task Force launched an ambitious project of self-examination that continues to this day. This report, occasioned by the 15th anniversary of the 1986 Task Force Report, is yet another installment in that project."

September 2002: Project 2015: The Future of Aging In New York StateArticles and Briefs for Discussion is an initiative developed in partnership between the New York State Office for the Aging and the State Society on Aging of New York to "establish a framework of facts and educated predictions of the future." August 2002: New York, the State of Learning (Chapter 655 Report) - Published in June 2001 by the New York State Education Department, this document is "A report to the Governor and the Legislature on the educational status of the State's schools."

July 2002: Published by the New York State Assembly, the monthly Grants Action News contains succinct, helpful information on currently available New York State and Federal grants. Entries contain information on the purpose of the grant, eligibility, how much funding is available, the deadline for applying, and how to obtain more information about the grant.

June 2002: A weekly official publication of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the Environmental Notice Bulletin (ENB) has been published since 1976 in accord with Environmental Conservation Law Article 3-0306(4).

May 2002: America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, 2001 - This annual compendium of statistical indicators on U. S. children is produced by the twenty agencies of the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics. This issue, which contains twenty-four indicators in four topics, "shows overall improvement in children's well-being but also reports continuing and significant disparities, principally along economic lines."

April 2002: The New York State Preservationist is a semi-annual newsletter of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Online in portable document format (PDF) from Spring/Summer 2000 through Fall 2001, it contains New York State preservation news, articles and color photos of places of historic interest around the state. A sampling of these editions includes recent listings of state and national registers of historic places, recent state grants in the areas of historic preservation and heritage areas, and exhibits and events at State Historic Sites. The Fall 2001 issue featured an article on the World Trade Center entitled "A Landmark Lost...A Landmark Remains".

March 2002: The Double-Edged Sword: Museums and the Fair Use Doctrine - The "fair use" doctrine allows limited reproduction of copyrighted works for educational and research purposes. In The Double-Edged Sword: Museums and the Fair Use Doctrine, the author writes that "A grounded understanding of fair use becomes more urgent with the growth of the Internet because museums are pressed to publish catalogues, collections, and digital archives on-line; simultaneously, they are challenged to manage intellectual property, facilitate transactions, and prevent the unauthorized use of images."

February 2002: Untangle the Web: Delivering Municipal Services Through the Internet - Many county and local governments have developed their own Web sites to enhance the services they provide. This 20-page guide from the electronic government program at the University at Albany's Center for Technology in Government (CTG), "was created to help county and municipal government officials understand ways of doing business on the Internet. The guide contains practical lessons, advice, and Web page samples. It draws from the experiences of a group of New York city, town, and county officials who shared insights into how their governments launched and currently manage their Web sites."

January 2002: All property owners, and tenants who are required to pay property taxes pursuant to a written agreement or lease are eligible to file a formal assessment complaint with their Board of Assessment Review (BAR) by the filing deadline. The New York State Office of Real Property Services' A Taxpayer's Guide: How to File For a Review on Your Assessment is designed "to make citizens aware of their rights and opportunities to review their property assessments and to guide them through the assessment complaint process should they decide to challenge their assessments."
