Limited Parking on Saturday, October 1,
Due to the Race for the Cure
If you will be visiting the New York State Library on Saturday, October 1, 2016, please be aware that the Susan G. Komen Northeastern New York Race For The Cure® is taking place in downtown Albany during the morning. The race starts and ends on Madison Avenue, in front of the Cultural Education Center, where the Library is located.
Although the Library will be open its usual hours on Saturday, there will be traffic and parking issues due to the race. We have been informed that:
- Madison Avenue and the West (bus) parking lot will close for vehicular access at 7:00 a.m. Pedestrian access will be permitted, and the public will be able to enter the Cultural Education Center at the Madison Avenue entrance.
- State Police have indicated the Cathedral lot will remain open if traveling up Madison Avenue from Eagle Street.
- Madison Avenue is anticipated to reopen to vehicular traffic by 1 p.m.
