Nassau will once again partner with the Sulffolk Cooperative Library System and the Long Island newspaper Newsday to provide an informative and fun eight page Summer Reading Program newspaper supplement to be delivered to children in elementary schools and member libraries. Information about the program will also be provided in the two largest weekly newspapers in Nassau County: the Long Island Herald and the Anton Community Newspapers. The Spanish-speaking population will be reached through Noticia Hispanicoamericana and LI Parent Magazine publications. Booklists will also be developed and distributed for the summer reading program.

Sulffolk Cooperative Library System will once again partner with the Nassau Library System and the Long Island newspaper Newsday to provide an informative and fun eight page Summer Reading Program newspaper supplement to be delivered to children in elementary schools and member libraries. The annual inter-library competition, Battle of the Books, will be held in which teams of young adults answer questions related to a group of eight books they have read as part of their participation in this program.  FLIP cameras will be purchased at a discount for each member libraries’ Teen Services Department. Each library will use the cameras to create movies highlighting teen summer reading programs and post them online.
