2007-2008 Discretionary Grant Awards

New York State Librarian and Assistant Commissioner for Libraries Janet M. Welch has announced 27 grants to libraries, historical societies and other organizations to preserve deteriorating library research materials. The grants, totaling $500,000 are part of a $2.24 million comprehensive, statewide program to preserve endangered materials important to the State.

The 2007-2008 awards include projects that will preserve a number of collections of unique photographs, brittle newspapers and archives, scrapebooks and other activities.
