Western Sullivan Public Library Jeffersonville Branch (Sullivan Co.)

The Jeffersonville branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library received $7,774 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to install a new HVAC system in the library building. Previously, the library was heated by electric baseboard heat and cooled by four window air conditioners in warmer weather. These heating and cooling systems were inefficient and also ineffective at keeping the library’s main level comfortable for patrons. With the installation of a new HVAC system the library now has central air conditioning and the main level of the library can be kept cool and comfortable for patrons, in addition to conserving energy all year round.
