Wimodaughsian Free Library (Canisteo, Steuben Co.)
The Wimodaughsian Free Library received $16,242 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for installation of enclosed chair lift to second floor including construction of the frame to house the lift. The library has recently completed renovations to the second floor in order to fulfill the New York State space requirements for the expanded charter population. These renovations will allow the library to have a Community Meeting Room, a Reference/Reading Room and a Teen room. In order to offer access to all members of the Canisteo community, the library needed to install a lift. This will allow those who cannot climb stairs access to the second floor and any activities that are offered there.
