Williamson Free Public Library (Wayne Co.)
The Williamson Free Public Library received $20,641 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the construction of new parking, including the addition of handicapped spaces, new curbing, new lighting and new sidewalks. The original design of the building’s parking made accessibility problematic. There were only two handicapped parking spaces, and these spaces were located about 140 feet from the entrance to the building. The library now has 8 additional handicapped spaces, located at a much more reasonable distance from the doors to the building. The curbing and other aspects of the original layout were reconstructed to accommodate this development. This project has greatly improved access to the library for all patrons.
