West Hempstead Public Library (Nassau Co.)
The West Hempstead Public Library received $3,180 from the $800,000 Construction Grant Program to install automatic doors. Previously, the doors were heavy and opened to the outside, making it difficult for anyone with limited mobility to use. The new doors, on the new library building, will allow those in wheelchairs, with strollers, or with lots of materials to open the doors easily. Access to the library will be improved.
