Waterford Public Library (Saratoga Co.)
The Waterford Public Library received $3,360 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to complete several projects to increase energy efficiency and accessibility. To improve the efficiency of the library building, a new electric water heater was installed, custom storm window panels were added, and the outdoor lighting was replaced with high efficiency light fixtures and bulbs. Through these projects, the energy costs will be lowered. Also, to increase accessibility to the library, an automatic door opener was installed on the East entrance to the building. This will allow those with limited mobility or patrons with large amounts of materials easier access.
