Tully Free Library
The Tully Free Library in Onondaga County (Onondaga County Public Library system), in an effort to offer a safer, more hospitable, and more efficient facility to its patrons, present and future, recently underwent its first major renovation since 1987. The full project called for "adding a 500-square-foot Community Room with private entrance; doubling the Children's Area; changing the existing Community Room into an Adult Reading Area; tripling our computer work space; adding a "winter-friendly" entrance; and installing a hot water heater, energy-efficient lighting, a new roof, new siding, and new building gutters." State construction aid was used to cover the cost of replacing old lights with new and more energy-efficient lighting throughout the library - including the original building, the renovated areas, and the new construction area.
