Southern Tier Library Sytem, Painted Post, NY
The Southern Tier Library System received $23,810 from the $14 Million Public Library Grant Program to purchase and install a back-up generation to provide emergency power to the library system. With the generator, the 48 member libraries, branches, and reading centers will have access to the services they utilize from the system even in the event of power outages. The system provides email service, communication, delivery services, and an online system, among other services.
Above photos show Ristiina Wigg, Executive Director, and Ken Behn, Information Technology Consultant, with the back-up generator that will keep books flowing throughout five counties. Southern Tier libraries are thrilled that NYS construction aid was available to support this project. Click on the above images to see a larger version. |
