Riverhead Free Library (Suffolk Co.)
The Riverhead Free Library received $17,500 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the installation of photovoltaic panels on the library building’s roof. With this installation, the library hopes to reduce energy costs and increase energy efficiency. In addition to these benefits, the library hopes to use the new photovoltaic system as a tool to educate patrons and the community about the benefits of solar energy and demonstrate energy savings.
