Patterson Library (Westfield, Chautauqua Co.)
The Patterson Library received $9,100 from the $800,000 Construction Grant Program to fund the replacement of lighting in the stack areas. The original lighting was installed in the 1960s and was not energy efficient and did not supply enough light. With the new lighting in the stacks, patrons will enjoy increased light levels and better conditions for finding and examining materials. Also, funding from the $14 million Construction Grant Program helped to replace the incandescent lights in the reading rooms as well, leading to better energy efficiency and an improved library experience throughout the library.
