Patterson Library (Chautauqua Co.)

The Patterson Library received $24,975 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the construction of a new mezzanine addition to house a Teen Area, and the purchase of furniture and installation of security cameras in the new area. Previously, the library had no designated area for teens, despite increasing participation from teens in the community. By renovating and expanding a portion of the lower level, the library was able to create a brand new space for teen specific collections and programming, distinct from adult and children’s areas. Junior High and high school aged members of the community now have their own space in the library, specifically designed to their interests.
