Prattsburg Free Library (Steuben Co.)
The Prattsburg Free Library received $3,272 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the expansion and renovation of an existing bathroom to improve accessibility. The original bathroom was too narrow and the fixtures were too restrictive to accommodate patrons with wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility assistance devices. The layout of the new bathroom is spacious, and the new fixtures, including sinks and toilets, are lower to accommodate patrons in wheelchairs. Improvements to these facilities increase accessibility, and encourage patrons with special needs to feel comfortable attending programs and events or simply spending more time in the library.
