Port Washington Public Library (Nassau Co.)
The Port Washington Public Library received $2,500 from the $14 million Public Library Construction Grant Program to upgrade the fire alarm system. With the grant, magnetic door holders were installed in the children’s library, media services, teen space, stacks, reference area, local history area, and computer room. The magnetic doors are tied in to the fire alarm system and will automatically close in case of an alarm. This will be allowed any possible fire to be contained into the wing in which it started. The new doors will allow for a safer library for patrons, staff, and the materials.
