Plattsburgh Public Library (Clinton Co.)

The Plattsburgh Public Library received $7,154 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the reconstruction of existing space into a local history room, as well as an upgrade of electrical wiring on the second floor. The previous layout was not conducive to public use as it did not provide adequate protection or display options. Over the course of the construction project, new shelving was created and a lockable door and improved and more efficient lighting for the area were installed. Additionally, new electrical service was installed to provide for the use of computers in the area. All of these improvements allow the library to grant access for their patrons to an important historical collection.
