Plainedge Library (Nassau Co.)
The Plainedge Public Library received $2,500 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to renovate a large storage/workroom into a children’s media discovery center. The new children’s media discovery center is equipped with a listening center for CDs and DVDs, 2 new computers with educational software, and a DVD/VHS player with a pull down screen. This project has allowed the library to address the need within the community for a special place for children to visit when the schools are closed to listen to music, do homework, or view educational DVD/VHS.
