Plainedge Public Library (Nassau Co.)

The Plainedge Public Library received $4,992 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to install a drop ceiling and new lighting in what was formerly used as a basement storage room. This was an important step in helping to transform the room into a Local History/Archival Center where the library can now preserve the heritage of the Plainedge Community. The new Local History room helps to promote more efficient use of the library facilities by providing a comfortable area for patrons doing local history research.
