Oneida Public Library (Madison County)
The Oneida Public Library received $6,750 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to replace the roof over the original 1954 building and the 1993 addition. The old roof had inadequate insulation, which resulted in heat loss from the building. Icing was a major problem that damaged interior and exterior walls. Additionally, leaking caused ceiling, book, furniture, and shelving damage. With a new roof, the library will prevent future damage to the building and materials as well as saving on energy costs.
