North Tonawanda Public Library (Niagara Co.)

The North Tonawanda Public Library received $8,430 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to install a new fire alarm and upgrade the phone system.  The old alarm system, installed in 1975, did not provide a link between the alarm system and the security system.  With a new alarm system and phone upgrades, security personnel will now be able to pinpoint the nature of any alarms and notify the library staff and fire department of the location.  Additionally, back up systems and monitoring of equipment will prevent problems with the new alarm.
