Nassau Library System

The Nassau Library System received $67,381 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to install new electrical service to the building and rehabilitate the parking lot. The previous electrical service ran under a lot that will be undergoing development in the near future. There was a strong possibility that library’s power may be disrupted during this development. The new electrical service runs from the curbside under the library’s parking lot.

In addition to the construction needed to resurface the parking lot after the power lines were installed, the library underwent a general rehabilitation to the parking lot to address drainage problems. These repairs to the parking lot lessen the likelihood of accidents caused by standing water and pavement cracks as patrons and library staff walk to and from their vehicles. Overall, these improvements help the library to better serve its patrons with less disruption and improved access to the library.
