New Lebanon Library (Columbia Co.)

The New Lebanon Library received $70,632 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the construction of a new accessible bathroom, the replacement of the library roof, and the installation of a geothermal heating system. Previously, the library had a single, small restroom with deteriorating fixtures that was located behind the staff work area, and was difficult for the public to access.  The new restroom is equipped with new fixtures, is handicapped accessible and is located in an area that is easily accessible for patrons. The roof of the library was badly deteriorating and needed constant repairs. A newly installed metal roof eliminates the need for repairs, and more effectively prevents damaging leaks. Finally, the installation of geothermal heating system to replace an oil-burning furnace reduces energy consumption and heating costs for the library.
