North Castle Public Library (Westchester County)

The North Castle Public Library received $15,000 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to renovate the existing Magazine Room into a community room. The Magazine Room was designed as a quiet place for reading or studying, but a larger demand for specialized programming requires more space. Partitions, benches, and bookshelves will be removed, and a new area for audio visual equipment will be created. The room can still be used for quiet reading and study, but now programming can occur, including multimedia presentations. The converted Magazine Room will allow several programs to occur simultaneously in the library.
