North Babylon Public Library (Suffolk Co.)
The North Babylon Public Library received $98,362 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to fix problems in the roof and install photovoltaic panels. The previous roof had many problems to be addressed and allowed for great energy losses and high energy costs. The solar panel system and newly renovated roof will not only save money by making the library more energy efficient, but will also install the library as an environmental leader in the community.
