Lima Public Library (Livingston Co.)
The Lima Public Library received $84,760 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the construction of a new, 800 square foot addition. Prior to the addition, the library was unable to accommodate a dramatic increase in requests for public programs. The new addition allows seating for 49 people, and includes a kitchenette, two-handicap accessible bathroom facilities, and a connecting hallway to the original building. Because the addition was designed with a separate entrance, the area can be made available for programs after hours, even when the main building is locked. This entrance and the whole addition are also accessible for patrons with disabilities. Finally, the new addition was constructed with optimum energy efficiency in mind. Lima Public Library is thrilled to be able to better accommodate its increasingly dependent community.
