Kingston Library
The Kingston Library (Mid-Hudson Library System), housed in the city's historic Sojourner Truth School building, recently completed renovation of its entryway to make it fully accessible to persons with physical disabilities. Prior to the renovation, the library had an ADA-compliant exterior sliding glass door that led into the library's vestibule. However, the interior entrance doors that led from the vestibule into the library were manual wooden swinging doors that made movement in the vestibule and entry into the library cumbersome and difficult for patrons with physical disabilities. State construction funds were awarded to assist in the cost of installing a new, ADA-compliant, automatic sliding door system in the interior vestibule.
