Katonah Village Library (Westchester Co.)
The Katonah Village Library received $90,000 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to renovate two existing bathrooms and reconstruct the main floor of the library. The library was able to add new plumbing, fixtures, partitions, doors and lighting to the two existing bathrooms, in addition to reconstructing them in order to make the bathrooms ADA compliant and accessible. The main floor was also reconstructed, with new lighting, carpeting, paint, and a new ceiling, as well as shelving for the newly finished area. These renovations allowed the library to increase both accessibility and energy efficiency, and make the library a better environment for all.
