The Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library received $3,600 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to create a storage closet for folding tables. In 2002, the building was expanded and renovated, which increased circulation and attendance to programs. Because of the increased attendance, tables and chairs for programs are constantly needed to be set up and dismantled. With a new storage space, staff can arrange the furniture with greater ease and the room can be left empty when tables are not needed. With the new closet, existing storage space can be used to store chairs and supplies.
