Hammondsport Public Library (now known as the Fred & Harriett Taylor Memorial Library)

The Hammondsport Public Library (Southern Tier Library System) began construction of a new 5600 square foot facility in the fall of 2005. The new library will include a historical room, community/multi-media room, study and computer areas, separate children, adult and young adult areas, and substantial office, storage and work space. It is anticipated that the new facility will afford the community more comfortable accessibility to the collection of nearly 30,000 items as well as increased public access to computers and community events, free of charge. State construction aid was awarded to help pay for the cost of the facility's windows and doors. If all goes according to plan, the Hammondsport Public Library's new facility will be open for business in May 2006.
