Half Hollow Hills Community Library (Suffolk Co.)
The Half Hollow Hills Community Library received $34,487 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the replacement of the boiler and air handler systems. In 2007, two of the air handlers in the library began to fail, and replacement was recommended for both. The boiler at the library was forty years old and needed to be replaced with a more efficient model. The new systems will reduce the need for constant maintenance to repair leaks and will be energy efficient, therefore reducing energy consumption and costs for the library.
