Grafton Community Library (Rensselaer County)

The Grafton Community Library received $3,939 from the $14 million Public Library Construction Grant Program to replace windows and rehabilitate the roof of the 1954 building. The old windows were the original single pane windows, which let drafts into the building. The new windows will be more energy efficient and will lower heating expenses and make the building more comfortable. The original roof did not provide proper ventilation for the attic, allowed ice dams to form, and was inefficient. The roof will be rehabilitated with new drainage, an ice barrier, and shingles.
