Fort Plain Free Library (Montgomery Co.)
The Fort Plain Free Library received $3,300 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to upgrade the automatic door openers at the main library entrance. The previous door openers caused the doors to open and close very slowly, allowing much cold air to seep into the building in winter, and warm, humid air in the summer. The new wireless automatic opener allows the doors to be opened with “Push to Operate” buttons, in addition to providing the option to open the doors manually. Now the library will be more energy efficient and have a more comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
