Fort Plain Free Library (Montgomery Co.)

The Fort Plain Free Library received $3,010 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the installation of new electrical outlets wiring, the replacement of gutters and drainpipes, and the construction of a roof peak. By increasing the number of outlets and upgrading electrical equipment the library is able to offer more public access computers for patrons, including a dedicated computer terminal for local tourism information, which includes some of the library’s Local History collection. Replacement of aging gutters and drainpipes prevent the need for maintenance concerns and improve the stability of the library building. Finally, the construction of a roof peak over the front entryway prevents the buildup of snow and ice that can occur in the winter. Overall, these improvements increase customer satisfaction effectiveness of service in the library.
