Frothingham Free Library (Montgomery Co.)
The Frothingham Free Library received $3,435 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to install air conditioning and related ductwork. Previously, the library grew very warm during the summer months, detracting patrons from using the library facilities. The summer programs had dropped in attendance due to the heat, and many senior patrons could no longer visit the library during warm weather. With a new, energy efficient air conditioner, the library will be able to continue to serve patrons throughout the year.
