State Aid for Public Library Construction; 2007-2008 $14 million Public Library Construction Grant Program

Freeport Memorial Library (Nassau Co.)

The Freeport Memorial Library received $11,276 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to install handicapped accessible sliding doors in the main entrance to the library.  The new doors will allow those who need assistance in opening the doors to enter the library easily.  Additionally, an air curtain will be installed between the library and lobby to keep the temperature in the library consistent.  The new doors will benefit all patrons who have limited mobility or a large amount of items when entering or exiting the library.
