Freeport Memorial Library (Nassau Co.)
The Freeport Memorial Library received $76,987 from the $14 Million Public Library Grant Program to replace the roof and HVAC units. The old roof was leaking because of the age, pitch, and poor drainage. A new roof will prevent further damage to the library and materials, and will allow all portions of the library to be open. Additionally, the HVAC units were old and inefficient. Replacing both the roof and the units will result in greater efficiency and lower energy costs.
