Alice Curtis Desmond and Hamilton Fish Library
The Alice Curtis Desmond and Hamilton Fish Library (Mid-Hudson Library System) recently installed an elevator in its building to provide access to the library's lower level. The elevator not only allows access for persons with disabilities to the lower floor of the library but enhances the ability of all library patrons, including children and older adults, to access the area and, in particular, the "program room" as well. Previously, the only access to the lower level was a long staircase that was difficult to navigate. State construction funds were used to assist in paying for the elevator.
