East Williston Public Library (Nassau Co.)

The East Williston Public Library received $27,000 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to increase energy efficiency in the library building by installing 12 new windows and a new central air conditioning unit. Previously, library staff struggled to maintain cool temperatures in the building, as the three AC units in the building were old and inadequately emitted the cool air needed to provide a comfortable environment. Additionally, the cool air that was produced leaked out of the building through old and inefficient windows.  New windows and modernized central air equipment increase the library’s energy efficiency, reduce energy costs, and create and maintain a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for patrons and staff.
