East Meadow Public Library (Nassau Co.)

The East Meadow Public Library received $17,403 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for replacement and resealing of glass panes in four bay windows and one atrium window. The windows, installed between 1983 and 1984, had failed and were no longer energy efficient, allowing great losses in heat and air conditioning. The new panes and sealant increase energy efficiency and maintain interior temperatures, which improves comfort levels in reading areas adjacent to the windows.
