Cuba Circulating Library (Allegany Co.)
The Cuba Circulating Library received $2,771 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the installation of motion sensor light switches, including all necessary rewiring, throughout building; replacement of lighting and fixtures in various areas throughout building; and the installation of outside wall fixture. Previously, lights in less frequently used areas of the library would remain on throughout the library’s business hours. With the installation of motion sensors in these areas, lights will turn on when patrons enter the area, but switch off when the area is not used, reducing energy costs and improving energy efficiency. Energy efficient light switches were also placed in other areas of the library. New outside lighting ensures the safety of patrons and staff entering and exiting the library during evening hours.
